Bianca Mick Jagger Ordered To Pay $600,000 In Backdated Rent

Sir Mick Jagger's ex-wife Bianca has been ordered to pay $600,000 (£375,000) in backdated rent after losing a legal battle against her former landlord in New York City.
Jagger was evicted from her rent-stabilised $4,600 (£2,944) a-month Park Avenue apartment of 20 years in 2008 after complaining of water leaks and mould.
Nicaraguan-born Jagger - who also has a home in London - lives in New York on a B2 visa, which requires a "principal, actual dwelling place" outside the United States, meaning she wasn't entitled to a rent-controlled property in the city.
She fought against the bosses at rental agency Katz Park Avenue, who claimed they were owed backdated rental payments for the two decades she lived there, and on Thursday (27Sep12), a state appeals court judge ruled in the company's favour.
Jagger now has to hand over $600,000, as well as legal fees amounting to $343,827 (£214,375), according to the New York Post.

Rocker reveals his lust for Rolling Stones frontman in autobiography 'Who I Am'

The Who's Pete Townshend has revealed that Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger is the only man he's "seriously wanted to fuck".

In an excerpt from his forthcoming autobiography Who I Am, the legendary guitarist admitted lusting after his fellow rocker and also refuted stingy allegations made by the likes of Stones' guitarist Keith Richards about the size of the singer's manhood.

Townshend, who has been writing the memoir for 15 years, says:
Mick is the only man I've ever seriously wanted to fuck.
He also described Jagger's penis as "long and plump" and insisted the singer was "very well endowed", echoing comments he had made about the frontman's member being "huge and extremely tasty". His description, however contradicts less complimentary claims made by Richards in his million-selling autobiography Life which reportedly led to a rift between the pair.

Who I Am will be published on October 11 by Harper Collins. The book will share details of Townshend's "incredible life and elaborates on the turbulences of time spent as one of the world’s most respected musicians – being in one of rock’s greatest ever bands, and wanting to give it all up".

It was during the writing of the book in 2003 that Townshend was cautioned by police for accessing child pornography on the internet. When questioned by police about the material he cited researching for the book as his reason for doing so.

He said at the time: "I believe I was sexually abused between the age of five and six and a half when in the care of my maternal grandmother who was mentally ill at the time. Some of the things I have seen on the internet have informed my book."

He added: "If I have any compulsions in this area, they are to face what is happening to young children in the world today and to try to deal openly with my anger and vengeance toward the mentally ill people who find paedophilic pornography attractive."

The Who recently performed at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, playing the band's hits 'Baba O'Riley' as well as 'See Me, Feel Me'/'Listening To You' and 'My Generation'.

The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year by releasing an in-depth documentary titled ‘Crossfire Hurricane,’ and now fans can get an early look at the film in a new trailer that’s been released online.
Academy Award nominee Brett Morgan directed ‘Crossfire Hurricane,’ gaining unprecedented access to the band and never-before-seen footage to tell the complete history of the legendary British rockers. The film tells the story of the Stones from their roots in London’s blues scene, to their rise through the chaos of drugs, excess, musical innovation and commercial success on a worldwide level.
The film’s trailer itself is a timeline of the Stones’ career, alternating early black and white footage of the fresh(er) faced musicians in suits and later film of the group in their wild ’70s costuming to present a visual  travelogue of the band’s history.
“For anyone who wants to experience the band, this is the film that will defy convention and create a sonic tapestry to transport viewers into the world of the Rolling Stones,” Morgen says in a press release. “The film will deliver the original, bold, sexy and dangerous flavor of the iconic rock band.”
‘Crossfire Hurricane’ will premiere at the London Film Festival on Oct. 18.

Ronnie Wood, ex-wife auction off Rolling Stones memorabilia...

Ronnie Wood, ex-wife auction off Rolling Stones memorabilia

(Reuters) - Guitarist Ronnie Wood and ex-wife Jo Wood are auctioning off their shared collection of art and Rolling Stones memorabilia after their 24-year marriage ended in divorce.
Auctioneer Darren Julien pegged the collection's initial value at $300,000 to $500,000 and said the sale, to be held at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills on October 27, marked the first time a member of the Stones had held an auction of this kind. "We expect it to do very well," he said.
The rocker, 65, and Jo, 57, a former-model, separated in 2008 after his widely reported relationship with a young cocktail waitress named Ekaterina Ivanova. Their divorce was finalized in February 2011. The sale takes place ahead of the release next February of Jo Wood's memoirs that reveal her tales of life as the wife of a Rolling Stone.
"They are still very good friends and they just decided it was time to simplify and sell some of their property," Julien told Reuters.
Part of the proceeds will go to MusiCares, the Grammys charity that offers recovery to people in the music industry, the auction company said in a statement.
The collection features memorabilia spanning four decades from the guitarist's work with the Rolling Stones and his earlier association with the band Faces, as well as his solo career.
Items include tour clothing, backstage passes and ephemera from various Rolling Stones tours, such as worn leather jackets and custom painted Fender Stratocasters, one depicting a Rolling Stones recording session, valued at $4,000 to $8,000, Julien's said in a statement.
Portraits of Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Bob Dylan, valued at $800 to $1,200 each, are also among the artwork offered by Wood, a celebrated visual artist and painter, it said.
Wood has recently been focusing on his visual art career and in April opened a New York City art show entitled, "Faces, Time and Places," featuring portraits of Mick Jagger, Richards, Charlie Watts and other celebrities.
But he is still mostly known for his music and in April was inducted for a second time into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with other members of Faces, including Rod Stewart and Kenney Jones.
The Rolling Stones, which Wood joined in 1975 after Mick Taylor left the band, were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989 and this year are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
The Woods will also sell antiques, furniture and art from the Surrey, England countryside estate shared by the couple, including an Erard harp, pegged at $4,000 to $5,000, and a bronze jockey statue by Dame Elisabeth Frink valued at $65,000 to $85,000, Julien's said on Tuesday.

The Ronnie Wood Years Part 1"

An in-depth documentary covering the career and music of the
Rolling Stones between 1975 and 1983.

SIDVD575.jpg
By the end of 1974 all was not well in the camp of the group tagged 'the greatest rock n' roll band in the world'. Their last two records had received little in the way of critical acclaim, the co-songwriters and main players had drifted far apart and in one notable quarter heroin addiction was rife.  So when the man who had, for the previous five years, often been seen as the ensemble's anchor announced his resignation, many fans wondered if the game was all but up for The Rolling Stones.

But those of little faith had no further need to fret once Ronald David Wood, formerly of the much loved but shambolic Faces, plugged his Fender Strat into the Stones' PA, having been offered, to rapturous acceptance, the coveted position formerly occupied by Mick Taylor, and before him, the late Brian Jones.

Ronnie's arrival seemed to breathe new life into the band and their next pair of albums - the funky Black & Blue and new-wave-meets-discoSome Girls - were generally considered their best since Exile on Main Street. And as the 70s wore on and the 1980s dawned, while the records they released and the shows they played certainly had their detractors, glorious moments were always close at hand.

This documentary film covers the Stones' career and music between 1975 and 1983 and includes archive and exclusive interviews, contributions from the finest experts and writers, and rare and classic footage, all soundtracked by the music that, despite it all , remained 'only rock 'n' roll ..............'

Rolling Stones team up with Carnaby Street in London for pop-up store and more...

The Rolling Stones announced on their official website that they have teamed up with Carnaby Street in London for a 50th anniversary promotion in which the famous shopping street will be adorned with Rolling Stones decorations and have an official Rolling Stones pop-up store. The promotion will last from November 8, 2012, to January 6, 2013.
Here is the announcement:
Carnaby Street collaborates with the Rolling Stones for Christmas
The Rolling Stones are collaborating with Carnaby, in celebration of their 50th Anniversary, for the 2012 Christmas installations.
Carnaby is world famous for its musical heritage as well as fashion and this year’s Christmas designs will be a very special project with the greatest rock’n’roll band in the world.
The Christmas public art will consist of huge 3D spheres suspended throughout Carnaby Street containing gold and silver vinyl records emblazoned with the bands iconic artwork and album covers.
The Carnaby arches will also be dressed with the Stones’ iconic tongue and lips logo. The outdoor installation tells a visual story from the band’s creation in the 1960s to the present day.
The installations will launch on 8th November 2012 and will be in place until 6th January 2013. In addition there will be a Rolling Stones pop up shop on Carnaby Street. This will be a curated space that will sell limited edition apparel and prints, plus the band’s new greatest hits collection GRRR!, released on 12th November. A limited edition canvas shopping bag will also be available for Carnaby shoppers.
The Rolling Stones/ Carnaby relationship began in the 1960s, when the band would often frequent the shops on Carnaby Street, and just round the corner on Broadwick Street where they rehearsed for their first live shows.
"We are delighted to be working with the most famous band in the world. They have been instrumental in defining popular culture and epitomise the essence of Carnaby’s music heritage." -- Simon Quayle, Director, Shaftesbury
Carnaby is London’s most exciting destination for shopping and leisure, with a unique mix of global fashion brands, independent stores, unusual boutiques and award winning restaurants. No other area in London can boast such a distinctive heritage for fashion, music and youth culture.

The Rolling Stones Release ‘Grrr!’ Gorillas Worldwide...

The Rolling Stones Release ‘Grrr!’ Gorillas Worldwide

Gorilla
RollingStones.com
Many of the world’s most well-known landmarks are being overrun by gorillas! To help promote their new ‘Grrr!’ greatest hits package, the Rolling Stones have unleashed 3,000 of the hairy beasts to top structures like the Empire State Building, Big Ben in London and the Sydney Opera House.
Perhaps the best part is only a small portion of the population will be able to see the animals. It’s another advantage of downloading the band’s uView app. By pointing your smart phone at one of the structures in 50 cities worldwide, the gorilla will come to life. You can then take a picture, and email it in to compete in a contest for prizes. Or you can send it via twitter to @RollingStones including the #GRRR! hashtag.
A few pics are already available at the Stones’ ‘Grrr!’ homepage. It’s there you can find all the locations at which the app will work, and maybe plan your vacation to see sites like the Nelson Mandela statue in South Africa or the Freedom Tower in Miami, Fla. If you can’t get to one of those locales, you can also point the view finder at any Rolling Stones logo or the iconic lips. Pointing the view finder at an actual gorilla is another way to bring the gorilla to life, although we suggest taking cover if an angry animal starts running at you.

The Rolling Stones 'Charlie Is My Darling' documentary to get official release after 40 years Film will feature earliest known concert footage of the band...

The 1965 The Rolling Stones documentary Charlie Is My Darling is set to be officially released for the first time.

The 50-minute film was shot in September 1965 when the Stones did a two-date tour of Ireland after 'Satisfaction' hit the charts. Although bootleg copies have been available, the film was never officially released.

However, as part of the band's 50th anniversary celebrations, a new, restored version of the film will premier at the New York Film Festival on September 29, Billboard reports. It features the earliest known professionally recorded concert footage of the band, including the tracks 'Satisfaction', 'Time Is On My Side' and 'The Last Time', as well as documentary footage of the band backstage, writing new tracks and doing impressions of The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

Showing the hysteria surrounding the band's early years, one track 'I'm Alright', comes to an abrupt end as crowds swarm the stage and the band have to be rushed offstage by police.

"We did some pretty serious science on this," director Mick Gochanour told Billboard about the restoration process. "It took eight months to synch up the [soundtrack] with the live performances…We realised during the middle that we had six complete performances" from the two different cities, recorded on long-obsolete three-track tape.

He added: "There were three tracks: the audience, Mick, and the band. The audience recording was slightly out-of-synch with the band, and when we aligned them, it gave unbelievable definition to the bass and drums."

The world premiere of Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965 will be released commercially on November 6. It will follow the release of another Rolling Stones documentary, Crossfire Hurricane, which is directed by Brett Morgen and follows the band from their early road trips and gigs in the 1960s right up to present day.

Earlier this month, The Rolling Stones announced that they will be releasing a new greatest hits compilation, titled 'GRRR!', in November, which will feature two new tracks.

Jerry Hall - Jerry Hall: My long-distance relationship is difficult

Jerry Hall: My long-distance relationship is difficult

Jerry Hall admits her long-distance relationship with Australian millionaire Warwick Hemsley can be ''quite difficult'' because they live 12,000 miles apart.
Jerry Hall finds her long-distance relationship ''quite difficult''.
The 56-year-old model - who was previously married to Sir Mick Jagger - lives in London, while her partner, millionaire Warwick Hemsley, lives in his native Australia, and she admits it can be tough on both of them.
She said: ''It's quite difficult because 12,000 miles is a long way. But he's a lovely man.''
However, Jerry - who was born in Texas - does enjoy spending time by herself in her London home gardening.
Speaking on UK TV show 'Lorraine', she said: ''I'm quite a home girl. I've been living here 27 years so this is my home, all my children are here. I love gardening, the English are so into it.''
Despite previously stating she would not get married again, sources recently claimed Jerry is now considering the idea.
An insider said: ''When one of her friends made a remark about how they could see her marrying again, Jerry would always laugh it off.
''But recently she's stopped being so coy. In fact, she's been saying quite openly that she likes the idea.''
Jerry is currently appearing on British ballroom dancing show 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Crossfire Hurricane...

Crossfire Hurricane

This new documentary by Academy Award-nominated Brett Morgen commemorates the 50th anniversary of rock‘n’roll legends The Rolling Stones.

  • Director Brett Morgen
  • Producer Victoria Pearman
  • Co-producer Morgan Neville
  • With Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood, Bill Wyman, Mick Taylor
  • USA 2012
  • 118 mins
  • UK distribution Eagle Rock Entertainment
Rock’n’roll legends The Rolling Stones reach their 50th anniversary and the LFF marks this extraordinary milestone with the World Premiere of this commemorative documentary from Academy Award-nominated Brett Morgen (The Kid Stays In the Picture; Chicago 10). The first comprehensive overview of their career is meticulous in its construction, using classic Stones tracks to segue between phases of their enthralling story – from teenage fandom, to counterculture heroes, through drug busts, Brian Jones’ tragic death, band-mates departures, arrivals and everything in between. With a strong focus on the first 20 years, the wealth of rich, rare and often unseen archive material includes newsreel, film and TV appearances, excerpts from famous previous Stones movies and raucous, visceral live performance footage. Band members past and present have actively participated in the making of the film and one of its many pleasures is the specially recorded audio commentary by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood as well as new interviews with Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor. Alternately nostalgic, satisfied and very funny, they not only give insider testimony on some of the most notorious moments in rock’n’roll history, they also reveal the dynamic that has ensured the band’s longevity. When the film kick-starts with the quip ‘never let the truth spoil a good story’, it functions as a coolly ironic preface. The truth is that The Rolling Stones – the trials and triumphs of their lives, their extraordinary success, their impact on the history of popular culture and most of all, their music – threaten at every turn to exceed story and become myth. One of the great achievements of this dazzling tribute is that it revels in all that, but it also succeeds at keeping it down, occasionally dirty, and very real.
Clare Stewart, Adrian Wootton

Around the UK and international territories

Audiences around the UK and in various international territories will have the chance to see the World Premiere beamed live by satellite into their local cinema, featuring red carpet arrivals at the BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express®.

Rolling Stones in 'Legend to Legend' promotion on ESPN's 'Monday Night Football'

In commemoration of the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary in 2012, the Rolling Stones have licensed several songs for use in ESPN's "Legend to Legend" promotion that will air during the network's "Monday Night Football" coverage, as of September 10, 2012.
Here is what a press release says:
ESPN is licensing 16 Rolling Stones tracks, spanning the early 1970’s release of "Exile on Main St." through the mid 2000’s "A Bigger Bang." The songs will be a mix of popular hits and deep cuts, including “It’s Only Rock’n Roll,” “Hot Stuff” and “One Hit (To the Body).” Four different songs will be selected per month and will be used for four weeks at a time on ESPN’s "Monday Night Countdown" pregame show (6:30 p.m. ET), on bumpers and teases within the "Monday Night Football" game (8:30 p.m.), and in a post-"MNF" game highlight segment on "SportsCenter," ESPN’s flagship highlights, news and information show ...
“Legend to Legend” elements will be identified with a branded logo and high-end animation within "Monday Night Countdown" and SportsCenter, highlighting “The 50 Years of the Stones” and incorporating the band’s signature tongue logo.
“We're very proud that the Rolling Stones chose ESPN’s 'Monday Night Football' to play a major role in their 50th Anniversary celebration; sports and music fans alike will enjoy the combination of these two pop culture legends – the most successful prime time sports series in the history of television and the world's greatest rock and roll band to supply music for our season-long soundtrack,” said Bob Toms, ESPN vice president of production enhancements, who oversees the ESPN Music department.
As previously reported, the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary greatest-hits collection is titled "GRRR!," and it's scheduled for release in the U.S. and Canada November 13, 2012, and in other countries on November 12, 2012. The complete track listing is to be announced, but the band has announced that the collection will include two new and original Rolling Stones songs: "Gloom and Doom" and "One Last Shot."
"Crossfire Hurricane," the official Rolling Stones 50th anniversary documentary, will have its world premiere at the 2012 London Film Festival on October 18. The Rolling Stones will attend the premiere. Eagle Rock Entertainment will release the film for a limited time in cinemas, as well as on DVD and Blu-ray, on dates to be announced. "Crossfire Hurricane" will have its U.S. TV premiere on HBO and its U.K. TV premiere on BBC 2, also on dates to be announced.

EXCLUSIVE REPORT

If you want an engaging look at the Rolling Stones in their youthful prime, decades before they became legends playing massive venues, then look no further than "Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965," which has been lovingly restored for an official release. On September 14, 2012, the New York Film Festival and ABKCO presented an advance screening of the film to journalists in New York City. I was one of the lucky people in attendance, and I'm happy to say that the visual and sound qualities for this movie are top-notch. It was a real treat to see this film in a theater instead of on a TV screen. (The media screening took place at the Walter Reade Theatre, where the movie's other New York Film Festival screenings will be held.)
As previously reported, "Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965" will have its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on September 29, 2012, at 7 p.m Eastern Time. An encore screening will take place on October 3, 2012, at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets went on sale on September 9, 2012.
It has not been announced if the Rolling Stones will attend the premiere.
The movie's TV premiere will be on a network, date and time to be announced, but it should be in the autumn of 2012.
On November 6, 2012, ABKCO will release the movie in these three formats:
  • DVD
  • Blu-ray
  • Super deluxe box set that will include a DVD, Blu-ray, 2 CDs and a vinyl LP.

ABKCO has announced that the director's cut of the movie, the producer's cut of the movie and the 2012 version of the movie will be available in all of these formats.
Peter Whitehead directed, photographed and edited the 1965 version of the movie, while Andrew Loog Oldham (the Rolling Stones' manager at the time) was also a producer of the film.
The 2012 restored version of the movie was directed by Mick Gochanour and produced by Robin Klein.
As the movie's title indicates, the documentary (filmed entirely in black and white) captures the Rolling Stones on tour in Ireland in 1965, just weeks after "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" hit No. 1 and became an iconic anthem. "Charlie Is My Darling Ireland 1965" holds the distinction of having the first filmed performance of the Rolling Stones doing "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" in concert.
The film chronicles the tour in all of its chaotic, frenzied glory, including the hysterical reactions from fans that included audience members storming the stage until a concert had to be shut down by police, as well as screaming teenage girls chasing after the Stones at a train station and the band jumping across the train tracks in order to get away.
In one of the early scenes, guitarist Keith Richards is standing calmly somewhere when all of a sudden a female fan standing near him plucks out a hair out of his head. He exclaims, "Ow!" in a somewhat shocked and annoyed manner before walking away.
In another scene later in the movie, the Stones are eating at a restaurant, while curious onlookers peer through a window at the restaurant, as if they're looking at exotic animals in a zoo.
At the beginning of the movie, there's a clever bit of editing, as an interviewer asks Rolling Stones fans outside a concert venue which band member is their favorite. As various fans give different answers, the band member who is named is then shown talking about how the fame has affected them.
Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts talked about having an "inferiority complex" as a drummer in a rock band.
Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones commented, "The future as a Rolling Stone is very uncertain. My ultimate aim in life was never to be a pop star. I enjoy it ... but I'm not really satisfied about it artistically or personally."
Rolling Stones bass player Wyman said: "I always wanted to be a musician. I always wanted to be in a band. It was so impossible and so unlikely that I dismissed it ... I always wanted to be, and then I was."
Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger stated, "You're not the same person on stage that you are the rest of the time ... You're very, very egotistical. I mean, you're acting. You're doing an act. It's not really you."
Jagger was then asked, "What do you set out to do in your act?"
He replied, "Entertain people."
Later in the movie, in another interview, Jagger is asked how egotistical he is off stage compared to how egotistical he is on stage. He grinned and said, "About half as egotistical."
However much "acting" Jagger did on screen in this movie, he did provide some visionary insight into the seismic shift in society coming from young people at the time: "For the last two or three years, young people have been (and this especially applies to America), instead of carrying on the way their parents told them to, they started this thing where they're anti-war, and love everybody, and their sexual lives have become freer. It's a different moral value, because they know they're going to get all the things that they were thought were impossible 50 years ago."
Keep in mind that Jagger made these comments two years before the "flower power" movement culminated in the Summer of Love in 1967.
In another scene that says volumes, when audience members ran up on stage during one of the Stones concerts, Jagger, Richards and Jones left the stage to go to a safer place as more and more audience members swarmed the stage. But even as the concert was falling apart around them, Wyman and Watts kept stoically playing, until they could play no more and were rushed off stage by security personnel.
Wyman commented on the crowd-control problems at Rolling Stones concerts, "The officials keep pushing back all the time, and the kids ... are trying to see."
Jagger added, "I wouldn't say that the Beatles are the symbol of authority, or any authority, but when the Beatles went to Germany, the same thing happened."
After that frenzied melee, there's a somber moment when Wyman is told that one of the female fans at the curtailed concert ended up hospitalized with a fracture, and he has an expression of helpless concern on his face.
But lest anyone forget that these are the Rolling Stones in 1965 (who were considered the ultimate rebel band at the time), they are seen smoking on a train as the camera cuts to a sign on the train that says "No Smoking."
Oldham is a constant presence on screen, as he accompanied the band on that tour, but he is barely shown saying anything in the movie. However, Oldham is often seen joining in during the off-stage jam sessions shown in the movie. This is where we see the Stones at their most relaxed and brotherly. During these jam sessions (in what look like dressing rooms or hotel rooms), the Stones perform mostly cover songs, such as "Eight Days a Week," "Where Will the Dimple Be," "Salty Dog" and "Blueberry Hill."
The concert scenes are simply electrifying. Most people seeing this movie weren't there to experience the Rolling Stones on tour in Ireland in 1965, but "Charlie Is My Darling" really is the next best thing to being there.
